CLUB COMPETITION

Message from Andy Lee at England Squash and Racketball

Hello All

We are opening up a competition to all affiliated clubs where they can win a prize in excess of £300. With a flat economy where funds are short this should be a welcome competition to enter.

Should you or any of your club contacts have any questions then please do not hesitate to contact either myself or Mark Williams.

Kind regards

Andy Lee
Regional Administrator - East

Ladies Intercounty 2nd stage Weekend

Ladies Inter County Weekend Stage 2

Stage two of the Inter County Ladies competition and the Cambs team were off to Derbyshire for the weekend. Although there was no promotion or relegation from this group the team were keen to do well. The new look line-up included a welcome return to county squash for Wendy Bradshaw at no.2 and Captain Faye Kowalewsky recently finding form to earn the no.3 slot. Ann Babtie, unbeaten so far in the Cambs Ladies Leagues this season, confirmed her place at no.1 and Mhairi Dougal and Jo Scrivens completing the team with strength at 4 and 5 respectively.

First Half Review and County Closed Call Up

First Half Review and County Closed Call Up

Well the first half seems to have flown by and we are now heading into cup matches; Christmas and then the County Closed –more of which later.
So a few passing thoughts regarding performances and predictions for 2010

Div 1 – With so many players to call upon and with Galen playing again Hunts County look nailed on for the title. With Pete Dickinson and James Berry unbeaten and James Powley looking comfortable at 2 it’s hard to see anyone getting past them on a regular basis.

Senior County Matches

Senior County Weekend 14-15November

Our senior teams play their first County weekends of the season and will be wearing new strip – sponsored by local company Martech Engineering.

Martech sponsor a number of sporting teams including Sawtry Colts football teams and are best known to the Squash community since the company is owned and run by Roel Van Es.

With Sammy Chambers still injured (get well soon mate) the Men’s squad is
Harry Leitch, Steffan Morgan, Neil Rossin, Dan McGinn, Nick Brown, James Powley, Matt Fielding and Rob Dadds.
