Results of the 7th Prince Graded Squash Tournament

The 7th Prince Graded Squash Tournament took place a St Ivo Outdoor Centre on the 13th and 14th of April.

The format proved popular as ever with competitors travelling form all over the country to play. The players select which their grade dependant upon their ability; A grade for County standard and above, B grade for team players who are not County players and C grade for regular team players.

National Champions again!!

England Squash hosted the U17 Inter County Finals in Solihull this weekend for the top 4 teams in the country, Gloucestershire, Cambridgeshire, Yorkshire and Essex.

Cambridgeshire’s experienced squad of 5 won the U15’s in 2006 and were keen to add the U17’s title to their achievements.

I’m sure the whole Cambridgshire Squash Community will want to send their best wishes to our Under 17 Squad as they head off to the Solihull Arden club this weekend and attempt to Win the National U17 Championship.

We are delighted to report further success at the recent Herts junior competition as 9-year old Nadine El Refee was runner up in the Girls u11 event.

Sammy Chambers has been selected to play for England!!

Capping a season where he has reached the National No 1 ranking at U17 and become the youngest ever winner of the Cambridgeshire Senior championships Chambers has been called up to represent England in the Individual and Team events at the European Championships to be held in Lyon between 7-11May.

Well done to the county men's Over 35 team

After facing very tough competition in their previous weekend and finishing bottom of the pack, this weekend the over 35 team managed to keep their place in the Premier league.

Boys Under 19 Intercounty Finals

GREAT EFFORT FROM CAMBS BOYS SQUAD IN U19 NATIONAL FINALS

England Squash held the finals of the U19 Inter County Competition over the weekend of 15-16 March at the National Squash Centre -Manchester. Cambridgeshire had earned their way to the final with a very young squad who have two further years within this age group. A fantastic achievement for Cambridgeshire to be one of the top four teams in the country, especially at such a young age

It's back to the First Division NORTH for the senior team as we finished in last place in the Premier League relegation weekend

Traditionally the top divisions get most of the news coverage but of course the leagues lifeblood is in the lower divisions – Juniors on their way up and old buggers , most of whom used to duff me up years ago – gracefully on their way down.
