VIEW FROM THE BALCONY
A few well deserved name checks in relation to recent tournaments-
The Nationals
Great to see Sammy Chambers and Ahmed El Refee at the qualifiers- this top-flight experience will stand them in great stead – well done guys.
However, pride of place at the nationals has to go to long time Cambs favourite Carole Page. Of course readers of these columns will know that Carole is no stranger to national success –she already has 4 age group titles.
Carole reached the finals of both o40 and 045 this year and whilst not winning either final it is a fantastic achievement.
Congrats also to our current ladies champion –Steph Marriott, who’s dipping her toes into Masters competitions this year – Steph reach the semis of the 040’s – another great achievement
Redbridge
Great to see so many Cambs Juniors entered and gaining valuable experience in the Redbridge Classic. So well done Nadine and Nayera. Same to Steve Mason; Paul Jordan; Tom Blair and Sam Bradshaw – if I missed anyone –please accept my apologies.
Pride of place however goes to Crown’s Harry Taylor – who cleaned up the u15 event without dropping a set – way to go Harry!!
National Juniors
This coming week sees our top juniors going to Manchester to compete in the National u19/u15 Champs.
Cambs are well represented and we send our best wishes to Sammy; Daniel McGinn ;Rob Dadds; Elsje Van Es and Harry Taylor
And finally
Good luck to Vinod and his o35 squad competing in the 2nd weekend of matches – they are over at Redbridge sports centre in Ilford – just down the end of the M11 if you can get over to support this weekend
More reports next week
Cheers
